Tapeworms

Image of a tape worm.

Tapeworms live in the digestive tracts of vertebrates as adults and often in the bodies of various animals as juveniles. In a tapeworm infection, adults absorb food predigested by the host, so the worms have no need for a digestive tract or a mouth. Large tapeworms are made almost entirely of reproductive structures with a small "head" for attachment. Symptoms vary widely, depending on the species causing the infection. The largest tapeworms can be 20 m or longer. Tapeworm awareness is importance to humans because they infect people and livestock. Two important tapeworms are the pork tapeworm and the beef tapeworm

Testimonials

  • "This vet is as good as it gets! Very happy to have found this gem. Great staff, great prices, couldn't be happier."
    Samantha N.
  • "They treat my dog very well and have a lot of patience. Everyone there seems to know exactly what are doing and I am comfortable when they take Ivan into another room without me (if you knew me, that speaks volumes)."
    Douglas G.
  • "I am abandoned my vet of 17 years to come here. Best decision I've made in my life. He was so sweet to my dog and very nice to me. He let me stay with my dog the whole time and treated her for something else not related to what I even brought her in for."
